Dear Lord,
You have called upon me to serve You as a Chaplain, just like You did with St. Martin of Tours centuries ago. I know You favor me, dear Lord, and I am ready to do Your ministry.
Grant me the ability to be sensitive to everyone and to be able to find significance in ministering to others in crisis.
As a Chaplain, grant me Your spiritual support to be a professional with the capabilities of handling situations of distress in the best interest of everyone and Your Name.
Anoint me with Your gift of listening, the tools for counseling, and the ability to support those in most need.
Please, dear Lord, always allow me to be loyal and responsible to my faith and to respect the faith of others in supporting individuals of all denominations.
Let me be Your pastor for all and protect me when I am confronted by evil; protect me from imposing my beliefs on others in need.
Grant me the ability to reflect and contemplate the significance of events in other people’s lives, the ability to work with common ideals, and the ability to understand basic concepts of all religions; in order to address matters of confidence, love, responsibilities, and righteousness.
Grant me the ability to be a builder of bridges where commonalities are highlighted instead of differences.
Let me be a winner of souls and accept people at any stage of their human development.
And dear Lord, give me the strength and wisdom to recognize that many of them do not possess an understanding of who You are.
